| Hello friends, glad you could come! Do I remind you of anyone? Someone asked me to perform, I'll do my best, though I'm old and worn. My Papa taught me how to play The old piano keyboard, I'm glad to say. Oh, he's not around anymore, He finally melted down to the floor. He was a Jolly old soul I'd say, He's traveled the world, in the same day. He's been rolled and pushed around, And shoveled up from the ground. His name was Frosty, someone wrote A nifty tune, every single note. His nose was kinda like mine you see, And he also had eyes just like me. Some have made him come alive, He even played in movies to survive. His clothes have been ecclectic And sometimes he's even electric. Not many knew that he could play a note, And he even rode on a Holiday float. He was always quiet, with not much to say But he was musical and sure could play. I hope you've enjoyed my repertoire, Of melodies from near and far. They all remind me of dear ole Dad, And all the fun that we had. So until next time I give a show, Be nice and always apropos Next winter I will be back again, Maybe if I outlast my old man. Written By Shirley Barr December 3, 2005 All Rights Reserved Psalms 126: 2,3 ~ Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Proverbs 15: 13 ~ A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. |
