| Walking through piles of fallen leaves,
Lying upon the ground so deep. Dried and crunchy as I step I wondered just how many was left. Where once there were leafy limbs Covered with rainbow colors on them. Now stark and almost naked in sight, Make strange reflections in the moonlight. Once full of life and happily blowing In the wind as their green was showing. Now lay in crumpled piles around After they drifted aimlessly down. Brings to mind the hearts of men As they follow a life of sin. Going through cycles of growth and death Aimlessly drifting in spite of themselves. Spending seasons of loss and shame Waiting for change to happen again. Hoping for light to come out of darkness Searching for answers although lethargic. So as I compare seasons to man Other changes seem to be on hand. Wars and rumors of wars still prevail, Adding to sorrow and travail. © SHY BARR October 21, 2006 JUDE: verses 21, 22 Keep yourselves in the love of God Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, Making a difference. |
