Hair of black, eyes like dew
How much I dearly love you.
Tiny feet and doll like toes,
You're my dream complete But then God knows
I begged for you, your very life
For a child to hold as sweet as spice
Oh little one so perfectly formed
Cuddled in my arms safe and warm
So very trusting, snuggling close As if to say I love you the most
This baby girl with dimpled chin
A lovely great, big, slurpy grin
A wide smile, sleeping for awhile
As precious dreams fill your little head.
How pretty you look, how precious you feel
As I rock and hold you while you lay still
Contented and happy, tiny, shallow breaths
like a little bird snug in it's nest
What child is this I see,
one that God has given to me.
