THE EMPTY CROSS

The cross it stood on Golgotha’s hill,
As Jesus bore the sins of the world at will.
Beneath the load of guilt and shame
No one to call upon His precious name.

My Savior hung there he bled and died.
Father it is finished, they heard him cry.
There must have been sadness in the fathers eyes.
As His Son Jesus, He gave His life.

He hangs no longer on the cross,
To be shamed and mocked by a world that was lost.
He paid the ultimate sacrifice,
He loved us that much to pay such a price.

Dear Father forgive us for all our sins,
Help us live right so we may enter in.
Heavens gates from this sinful world.

The empty cross should remind us all,
Of the price he paid for a world that was lost.
Of the love of God that is spread abroad,
Jesus gave His life no matter the cost.

HE GAVE IT ALL

As a precious little lamb
Being led to the slaughter.
He bore the cross to Calvary.
The weight so hard to bare.

He bore the stripes for our healing,
So much He gave, just to show He cared.
The pain He endured for you and I,
As He said Father forgive them, he cried.

He gave his life on that rugged old cross,
So that we all might live.
How much do we appreciate the sacrifice,
He gave all He had to give.

Our precious Savior,
He bled and died and rose the third day,
The glory of God shown all around,
As the soldiers all fell to the ground.

What a wonderful day that must have been,
When our savior rose that Easter morn.
No more to make that walk up Calvary’s hill,
To redeem us from our sin.

Lord help me to live in such a way,
That you would be pleased with me.
Because you gave your all for me,
Salvation for a dying soul to give.

Life’s struggles is but nothing.
When we consider Calvary’s hill.
Jesus carried our burdens, he died for us.
So that we all might live.
