I know a person called Melva,
Who some do know as Siggy.
And although I've never met her,
She's been a friend to me.
Then I was told a story,
Something that I could not say,
But that is why I'm writing,
Because December holds a special day.
For it's on the sixth of December,
A special day did dawn,
For Siggy came to us back then,
On the day that she was born.
So as she lays in bed that morning,
And then the phone does ring,
So as she goes to answer it,
She hears some voices sing.
They sing it oh so deeply,
As she holds it to her ear,
And hears the strains of "Happy Birthday",
From the ones she holds so dear.
So let me add my own voice also,
And with all others I do say,
