Christmas in the country is fine,
The calm and softness of another time.
With snow flakes falling down,
It could never be like this living in town.

I love to sit and watch the snow,
So quiet and gentle as it makes it's show.
Blowing softly in the gentle breeze,
Just enough cold in the air to make it freeze.

Twinkling lights that outline the roof,
A wreath with a bow on the fence as proof.
It's Christmas in the countryside,
This is truly where I just love to abide.

The lake that ripples beside the house,
Is freezing over and slick as a country mouse.
Reflections of tree limbs on the ice,
Make imaginary things seem so nice.

The big two story house towers above,
It's rooms filled with beauty and lots of love.
If these walls could just talk,
They'd tell a story about a different walk.

When time was only a fleeting thing,
Of days that made you happy and sing.
Cares of the world weren't so bad,
You were appreciative of what you had.

So now with Christmas so near by,
Praise God for each blessing, let's try.
For long ago He came to save,
The world's sinners and bring better days.

Whether you live in country or town,
Let joy and love and giving be all around.
Rejoicing for snow falling from the sky,
Making it a glad day, not a sigh.

I love Christmas anywhere I may be,
Whether in town or where ever you see.
It's such a special time of year,
May I wish you happiness and lots of cheer!!
