| MESSIAH FORETOLD |
| In days of old
It was often told By prophets to men Messiah would come And would be slain To save them from sin. Even so the wicked Dared Almighty God Building idols as icons Of worship as they trod Disbelieving and deceiving Lost in selfish pride. The Israelites so ungrateful For God’s provisions too Fleeing to lands unknown Away from God and home. Finding destruction in seduction And found left all alone. Daniel joined in the Lion’s den By One most Holy of all men Carried the message to his tribe My God lives, He still abides. A God of power and the law But Messiah’s coming is nigh. More prophets did for tell The coming of Him as well But were scorned and died Even though they tried To convince them all They died with sin and gall. Written by Shirley Barr © April 5, 2006 |
