| God's Abiding, Everlasting, Love
To the highest tree in the forest a Robin flies and on branch a nest she made And in her little newly made nest four bright blue eggs she so carefully laid One egg for kindness, one is for patience, one for empathy, the last one for care Four of life's greatest virtues the little Robin with mankind would gladly share But in that night a great storm would hurl the little Robins nest far to the ground And in the morning only blue shells and pieces of those virtues could be found The little bird gathered all together, a new egg she made, placed in a nest high above And this egg was called Emanuel, 'twas so named for God's all abiding, everlasting, love © Roger Eugene Corell April 1, 2006 *~*~* The Secrets That We Hide Are we at any time in reality what to others we may seem? Or maybe we're just the opposite or something in between Is there anyone who understands who we truly are inside? Or do we ourselves ever really know the secrets that we hide ©Roger Eugene Corell March 31, 2006 *~*~* A Novelist Writes, A Poet Jots A novelist writes to inform and enlighten others of a story he wants to create A poet writes selfishly of what he feels for his own agenda that he alone may relate A novelist writes methodically of what he sees and hears for his reader's reaction A poet jots down his internal feelings on a moment's whim for his own satisfaction Its not that a poet minds the sharing of what he has created for others to read It's for others to understand completely his meaning he doesn't have the need A novelist will be informative, using nouns and verbs will write at great lengths But a good poet knows it's in simple unadorned adjectives that lay his strengths (c) Roger Eugene Corell, March 25, 2006 |
