Roads that wind over lush green hills Cool waters that run through colorful dells Our vacation spot where we go each year, The mountain lake with it's sudden swells.
Beauty rare can be found there, Always inviting and awesomely serene. Master creations of God everywhere From mountains above to falling streams.
Colors of the rainbow in every tree, Turning into fall hues of orange and gold Yellows, reds we also can see, As we meandor down the mountain roads.
Every time we go it brings such joy, To behold all that awaits us. How wonderful to live in such beauty, I wish we could stay and not rush.
A week or two is not enough time, To witness all that is there so supreme. I would love to just live out my life, Among the big trees and the lake that gleams.
Alas, it will be our last trip this season, For winter will come and then snow. The winding roads will be icy for that reason, So away from the mountains we must go.
