A two story cottage windows aglow
With a gray thatched roof to show.
Lovely lawn adored with flowers,
Growing to beauty with summer showers.
A split rail fence outlining the space
With beautiful horses all over the place.
Grazing leisurely on new mown grass
Giving all around a look of class.
A summer’s day dream had come true,
Or was it just that a dream for me and you.
Growing up in the city, tight quarters around,
We always wanted to live out of town.
Away in the country in England no less,
Where the countryside vision is the best.
Rolling hills with wildflowers galore,
Calling our names across Atlantic shores.
Stone houses with inviting walkways,
Friendly neighbors over for tea most days.
What fun we would have running aloof,
Listening to the sound of horses hooves.
Down by the stream fishing for fun,
Skipping the rocks, as we keep up the run.
Up and down the hillsides dotted with hay,
Watching the equine as they stop and stay.
Chewing on their fodder, but not in a sack
Running free with no saddle on their backs.
Whinnying with pleasure as they follow us home
Enjoying our company and not being alone.
Oh what a wonderful summer’s day dream
It was so vivid and how real it seemed.
One day, maybe, we will sail over there,
And all it’s beauty and pleasures share.

Psalms 47: 6 ~ 7
Sing praises to God, sing praises unto
Our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth:
Sing ye praises with understanding. |
