| Genesis 1: 1 - 8 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness And God called the light Day, and darkness he called Night. and the darkness he called night. and the evening and morning were the first day. and God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. The light, sky and water, land and seas, sun, moon, and stars to govern the day and night and to mark seasons, days, and years. Fish and birds to fill the water and skies, Animals to fill the earth, Man and woman to care for the earth and to commune with Him, And on the Seventh day He rested and declared all he had made to be very good. |
| AThe purpose of the first book of the Bible Was to record God's creation of the world. With a desire to have people set apart in revival The humble beginning of creating man with worth. In efforts that would yet go astray from the plan When he created Adam and Eve. Do not eat of the tree of knowledge was his demand But flesh overcame the Man called Adam by Eve. Genesis explains the beginning of many realities, The universe, the earth, people, sin, and more All a part of God's plan that would take shape in history The plan of salvation was the ultimate goal, still in store. After Noah and the flood, God hoped for new beginnings The people disobeyed again by raising Babel, So he changed their tongue, to non-understanding And spread them across the land to start new nations. Abraham was asked to leave his country, And wander in Canaan waiting for God to send a son Then God gave him a test of his trust freely To kill his own son Isaac, he obeyed and a ram was the one. Isaac never resisted the sacrificial knife, And went on to take someone chosen for him to marry Isaac obeyed His heavenly father in his life, Willing to do whatever asked and not tarry. The story goes on of Isaac and Rebekah Jacob and Esau, and Joseph with the coat of colors, How Joseph came out of slavery to riches, And later reunited with his brothers. The plan God laid out was into motion And eventually Abrahams lineage was so vast. They could not be counted by the sands in the ocean The time for Exodus was nearing at last. There is more to tell of this beginning book, So many stories of love, hate and greed. So if you want to fill in the pages overlooked I suggest you pick up the Bible and read.
