| The moon was peeping through the clouds As the cold night air creeped about. Tiny flakes of frozen mist floating down A reverent silence hovered around. T'was the Eve of Christendom When the virgin Mary had her son. This little village was quite removed From Bethlehem where the stable stood. The church was filled wall to wall As the choir sang, "Come, Ye All." The faithful were there to declare Joy to the World, everywhere. The quiet and peaceful fellowship Of kindred spirits uplift. Praises to Our Lord and King As "Peace on Earth", voices sing. An almost perfect atmosphere Of all those who dwelled here. The little village quite removed From Bethlehem where the stable stood. Silent Night, Holy Night was heard Throughout the valley the air was stirred. With excitement and honor revered The Holy Night that Jesus appeared. I know that God was looking down On this peaceful little town. Smiling with gladness at what He saw Future generations still in awe. Gathering together on Christmas Eve To give thanks and still believe. That Christ was born to free from sin Our dying souls, to live again. So in this village quite removed From Bethlehem where the stable stood. Into the night as they slept in their beds Still had visions of the "Babe" in their heads. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. |
