| A winter's night, cold and bright The moon radiant with light. The frozen lake had a glow With snow covered mountains to show. ~ ~ ~ Oh what a beautiful scene, One I have only dreamed. The little house with windows aglow With little picket fences in a row. ~ ~ ~ Snow deep upon the ground And on the rooftop loaded down. In my dream, I could see a fire, To cuddle up to and warm awhile. Plenty of love my mind could feel In this little home that seemed so real I don't want to awake and lose sight Of the beautiful scene I see tonight ~ ~ ~ A magical place so serene Cold yet warm it seemed. A father and a mother A sister and a brother. ~ ~ ~ All happy, warm and cozy Living by the lake that is frozen Loving each other with passion And they love to live in this fashion. One day maybe it will be real And I can visit this place and reveal The beauty of the lake and house, And the mountains all around. ~ ~ ~ But, alas I woke up and found That it was as wonderful as it sounds I looked out the window to see The frozen lake looking back at me ~ ~ ~ The snow covered ground along the picket fence, And the warm fire that was so intense. Father and Mother, Brother and me Are very happy here as we can be ~ ~ ~ Written by Shirley Barr October 23, 2004 All Rights Reserved. |
