When I was just a little girl I had a friend that meant the world. We promised that we would be Forever friends for eternity.
*~*~*
We played and played everyday And made up games along the way. We had one special day you see And it came just once a week.
*~*~*
We would dress up in Sunday best And bring our dolls along as guest. The table was always fit for a queen Our long dark hair, with ribbons stream.
*~*~*
Our little teaparty was under the trees Of gardenia blossoms sweet as could be. We would pretend that we were famous But, Chelsea my kitty, would tame us.
*~*~*
Her name was Siggy, mine was Shy We loved to say, "We will never say bye We will always be forever friends, We will play together, until the end."
*~*~*
No thoughts about tomorrow Or days full of sorrow, Just happy and carefree Always Siggy and Me.
*~*~*
That special day of every week Would have never been complete. Without our make believe, And innocence that we conceived.
*~*~*
Now we are older and as I look back Forever friends we are without an act. I realize in my mind about the early days, It was my imagination, you know what they say.
*~*~*
But to me it seems so surreal And the sound of it has such appeal, Who knew that we would actually meet And forever friends, make complete.
*~*~*
There are those that don't believe That God has planned what we receive, But this one thing I know for sure He could never send a friend I would love more.
*~*~*
