JESUS' TEARS
It was a sunny beautiful day
my grandson and I were on our way.
It was time for preschool to start
he was so happy, joy in his heart.
We arrived early like we always did,
and up to the front seat he slid.
I always keep my Bible near by,
So while we wait our minds were occupied.
I would pick a really neat story
about Jesus, and read to the boy,
His eyes wide with wonderment
As If he had a new toy.
He has always loved to hear
about Jesus, the sweet dear
He would say, "Jesus loves me"
and that He died on a tree.
Since he was a wee thing,
He would drift off tosleep when I sing,
Sing stories of how Jesus was a boy
And how he filled His mommy with joy.
Well pretty soon the bells would chime
And we would move up a place in line
Until we reached his turn to go in,
He would tell me goodbye with a grin!
As I carefully made my way out,
The sunshine gave way to clouds,
The drops of rain began to fall
Until the bottom fell out on us all.
Well, there goes my errand day,
So off to home I made my way.
Before long the hours had past.
Time to pick up my boy from class.
By this time the rain had stopped
The clouds still looked as if they'd pop
As I arrived I took my place in line,
Waiting to ease up, and see that boy of mine.
I pulled up to the door, out he came,
Not having to worry about the rain,
He got buckled in safe and secure,
And we started off for home once more.
Usually he is talking up a storm,
But he was very quiet after this morn.
Then in a minute, he asked me why?
Mee Maw why does Jesus cry?
I asked him, Chris," why do you ask",
He told me that he heard in class.
That when it rained, Jesus was sad,
And he cried so much, it made the rain we had.
And he went on to say, I prayed,
And made the rain go away,
Because I don't want Jesus to cry,
He's my friend, that's why !
