| SING ME A SONG |
| Could you, would you, sing me a song? A melody of harmony that I could sing along. Of fun filled days and laughter too To lift my spirits high above the moon. To soar away on angels wings, To brighter days and better things. How marvelous,it would be To have someone to sing with me. We could make the lyrics up as we go Spontaneous, yet a streaming flow. Of words to rhyme and keep in time The tune of happiness and joy sublime. About our final resting place, Of Jesus love and amazing grace Lifting us up to plains above To rejoice with ones we love. Sing about the pearly gates And how we never want to wait To walk upon the streets of gold And celebrate with the saints of old. But first of all, to see the face Of the one who allowed us in this place, The sweetest songs we have ever heard Will ring across with Heavenly words. Alas, we realize the time is yet to come When we will sing with joy in our new home, So for now, we must do our best To serve and honor and stay true to the test. The harvest here is much too great I believe that's why the Lord still waits. For us to witness His love to many To assure them His forgiveness is plenty. To those of us who have accepted Him, We need to be thankful and to sinners extend, The Christian love Jesus does bestow To every living human on earth below. So, could you, would you, sing me a song A melody of harmony that I could sing along, Of fun filled days and laughter too To lift my spirits high above the moon. Written by Shirley Barr September 20, 2004 All Rights Reserved Psalms 149 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people; he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand. To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and there nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them judgement written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord! ! ! ! |
