| SOLACE OF A MOONLIT NIGHT |
| The moon was so bright Casting shadows in the night Filtering through my curtains, One would think; day light for certain. So I gingerly rolled my self to one side Trying hard my pain to hide, Using the bedpost for leverage to raise I lifted my aching body to sit and engage. Not knowing it was still night you see I managed to rise up and by the door to be, I listened for stirring of anyone in the house Alas, I heard nothing, not even a mouse. I made it to the kitchen for a diet coke, That's my replacement for when I use to smoke. I could hear the rumbles from our CD playing in the room Of torrential storms, rain and thunder, BOOM BOOM! I love to be up in the wee hours of the morning, To check email, while witnessing the dawning. A new day has come on the horizon, Thank you Lord for life and assisting me in rising. Sometimes I fret and feel so blue, Because of the things I use to do. But today is different as can be, And hopefully tomorrow, a new day again for me. Everyday I have to be reminded, Take all that baggage and put it behind me. This is the dawning of a brand new day, And Jesus is here for me, to guide my way. He is closer than a friend or brother On Him cast odds, ends and others. Let him in to care for me, And enjoy a moonlit morning with the Lord's wonders to see. Let my minds eye open, and welcome him along, Join in the praises, lift my voice in song. Do my best for the Master each day, And he will guide my steps along the narrow way. Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before, Everyday with Jesus, I love him more and more, Jesus saves and keeps me, and He's the one I'm living for, Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before. In my heart there rings a melody of love, All the words to good old hymns just kept rolling from above. All about the cross where My Savior bled and died, On that old rugged cross He was crucified. At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light, and the burdens, Yes, the burdens of my heart were rolled away, It was there by faith, I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day. What glorius refrains, were made in the old days, When songs of salutation were penned after salvation, And the words still ring true today, Of how precious and amazing is His grace. So I will purpose in my heart, to make each day a brand new start, Greet the day with thanksgiving to the King Let the hallelujahs ring. Keeping my eyes turned toward the goal, And witness to poor lost souls.
