| TEACH ME LORD TO PRAY |
| As I go through life day by day Teach me Lord to pray, Remind me of all Your goodness Help me to be a true witness. Sometimes in the daily scheme of things I neglect to thank You for joy You bring. The birth of my children and the lessons taught Now passed on to grandchildren, so much happiness they have brought. Help me to pray with Thankgiving in my heart To give You praise and honor, glory to impart. To not be selfish when I beseech You in prayer But to remember all the lost and hurting out there. Thank You for your gift that You gave so freely, Giving your life that I may be cleansed of sin securely The peace of mind when my soul gets in distress, That You are always there through every test. Lord, help my faith to strengthen and keep my eyes on You, And not look toward my brother to figure out what to do. Always mindful of Your tenderness and care. May I open my heart totally and let You dwell there. Living in this old world becomes harder each day, That's why I'm asking You Lord, teach me to pray. Not with self in mind, but for those that are lost. If only I had the strength You had when You bore the cross. But I know that You paid the cost for all my sins, Gave me the strength and knowledge deep within. It's up to me to pray each and every day, Knowing that You're always there when I pray. Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for all You have done, And I thank You for being so selfless and sending Your son. To give me freedom from sin and woe, And preparing an everlasting home for me to go. In the Precious Name of Jesus Your Son AMEN AND AMEN |
