THE FURY
Nature is not always kind
It has power that tends to bind
It latches on like a newborn to feed
And brings terror and leaves needs.

Destruction has made a path
Across water, islands and mass
People have lost their lives
Mourning are those who survive.

Winds of great fury blow
For some it is quite a show
But what about the aftermath
Leaving some homes in half.

Help is sent from across the nation
We must feed homeless, and not ration
Give them hope to face another day
Don't let self stand in the way.

So many needs, organize and plan
Do our best to fill the demand
From the Carribean to U. S. soil
We wage a battle, and take away the spoil

Thanking God for sparing so many
Yet, not understanding why, if any
Could survive such a menace
And still be here as witness

They are coming as if waiting in line
To strike havoc anywhere it finds
The season is just beginning !
Is there going to be an ending.

We have had so many so soon
After all those nights of a full moon
The beauty of a quiet moonlit night
For many has taken flight.

The reality of being vulnerable is here
And I am afraid it will come again next year
We can do what we can to prepare
Sometimes it doesn't matter what's there

As I have said before, and I say again
The only constant we have in this land
Is the Love of Jesus Christ our Lord
And if our ship sinks, He will take us aboard
