No other book is so famous And none is held with such awe, As the history compiled in the annals Of the Holy Bible, greatest of them all.
From the beginning of time to the end God gave instructions for how things would be. He chose men of old, told where to begin To record the events that transpired you see.
There were Prophets, He gave the news Of what was to be and by who. These men kept records some suffered abuse So we would always know what is true.
From Adam and Eve, to Noah in the Ark When He knew that destruction had to come Told Noah what animals and family to mark So that the flood would not destroy one.
Noah sent forth the dove to seek out Dry land and a sign of new life. And back it came with a twig in its mouth The new beginning was coming to light.
How marvelous the stories we can read Between the pages of this great BOOK It's knowledge and truth is all we need To know how to live and be good.
It tells how men in evil did live All about wars that were waged. Evil Kings who wanted to kill So they could control the kingdoms age.
Good Kings would come and try to make right All that had been desecrated and marred. It always would eventually fail despite All that God wanted, and leave many scarred.
But twas the plan of God you see For events to take place and prophets to tell The coming of a Messiah would be And would give men a choice of heaven or hell.
Christ was born as it was foretold of old, Grew into a man in God's own image He traveled all over the land good news He told But soon He would die so all men could envision.
Eternal life He gave to all of mankind, And the gospel was recorded in the word. It teaches us how to live and survive, It's the most awesome story ever heard.
So take this weapon that He calls a sword Let it go from your head to your heart It's all about love and living in one accord, The Greatest Book ever to impart ! !
