In Galations we are told
In God's word clear and bold.
The fruits of the Spirit in the word,
And these fruits are often heard.
The first is love for God and man;
The meaning of which you understand.
If you love God, you love your brother,
This fruit is needed above all others.
The second fruit we know is joy,
A feeling our hearts do employ.
We spread it around to everyone,
Because it comes from God's Son.
The third is peace that passeth understanding
It envelopes our soul and isn't demanding.
The feeling of peace comes with joy and love,
It's a fruit that also comes from above.
To be fruitful in this day and age,
You must be able to withstand rage.
The darts and arrows keep you buffering;
And builds stamina for long suffering.
But along with rage comes gentleness,
This fruit needs to compliment the rest.
Being gentle to your neighbors and friends,
Help to keep you faithful to the end.
Shine forth a light where goodness glows,
Giving you meekness and self-control.
No room for envy, lustfulness brings loss;
Jesus took these when he hung on the cross.
Live in the Spirit and walk close to God;
Follow in His footsteps....daily trod.
The fruits of the Spirit and the Word,
No Greater lesson can be heard.
