It was another hot Saturday in July
Weeks of hot weather had passed by
But this day was a very special one
It was time for all to meet for fun.
Yes, another family reunion was here
A time for so much love and lots of cheer
.
All the little ones were filled with joy
As they played together once more.
There were new little faces for me to see
Before, my appearance there just could not be.
My body was broken and full of pain
So at home I decided to remain.
There was another reason I declined
Because I had lost the only Sis of mine
.
The best friend, mother, she was so dear
She went to meet Jesus March of last year
.
It seemed her spirit was there among us
As we recalled the way she used to fuss
.
Making sure that we all were doing well
Also giving so much love in all to dwell.
Her family that she has left behind
With emotions, tears were inclined.
Her handsome sons along with their wives
Her hubby and grand daughters, all five.
Even though we cannot understand why
God took her from us, we look toward the sky
;
Knowing that some day if we continue the fight
We will join her when we take flight.
There's no place like home, that's so true
Especially if it's made up of love for you
.
But one day our home will be beyond compare
When we all have a reunion up there.
