GOD'S WORD IS STILL NUMBER ONE
This is a sad time in America in many ways, but one of the latest is how God's
Word has taken second place as the greatest book ever written. Now it seems the
Harry Potter series has been put in first place, at least in the eyes of the liberal
public.
People were lined up for hours just to get the last book in the series and it
was not just children but grown people who are hooked on this sorcery and
witchcraft. As I watched them lined up, I wondered if any of them ever read the
Bible and would they bother to line up for hours if they knew they could get a
glimpse of Jesus. Then I thought, if they knew hell was at the front of the line and
when they reached it, they would drop off into the pit, would they continue to stay
in line?
If they want to read about real horror, let them read the book of
Revelation. Harry Potter cannot begin to compare to the horrors foretold by John
through Christ......and you don't have to wait for another book to know how
it ends. Jesus has already revealed what the end will be like for the saved and the
unsaved.
People have made a god, little g, out of Harry Potter books, memorabilia; it's
another trick of the devil to turn you away from Christ and fill your mind with evil.
I was saved but I turned my back on Him for many years and did not go to church
at all. Then after many, many chastisements, and whippings and near death
experiences, I finally opened my eyes, rededicated my life to Him and I' ve been
serving Him ever since. I immediately began to clean house; I got rid of movies
that were rated X, those that seem to know nothing to say except use my Lord's
name in vain, all this junk in my life had to go out the door. I threw away books,
magazines, music; if it was filth and witchcraft, it had to go; not to make me
look good but to honor my God.
He made it possible for me to give up cigarettes
and I knew they were not good for my health, but more than that, they were not
a good testimony for me. I don't want anything in control of me and my life but the
Lord Jesus Christ. We have to be careful what we let into our lives that may become
first place and that includes things like Harry Potter.
Don't let anything come
before the Lord and keep your house and your body clean of the devil's debris.
Pay attention to what your children are listening to in music, what they are
watching on T. V. and especially the internet. If they walk around with
headphones on listening to music, take the time to find out what they are listening
to; the devil may be pounding evil into those little ears.... you never know. If they are
reading Harry Potter and such, it may seem like an innocent child's book,
but if it were, why are so many adults so crazy over it?
There is no book that
can take the place of the Holy Bible and when America and the media introduce a
book of evil as number one, our children and our country is in deep trouble.
